Leadership

Teaching has been my passion since I was a young girl growing up in Beaumont, Texas.  My dad built a loft in our garage which I transformed into my own little schoolhouse. I spent my summers holding class for the neighborhood kids, even assigning homework!  My parents say they knew from the beginning that I was a born teacher!

After high school, I headed to Texas A&M University graduating in 1999 … WHOOP! I quickly found my way to Magnolia, teaching math at Magnolia 6th Grade and coaching cross country and track at Magnolia Jr. High.   What a rewarding time challenging kids to push themselves to success which led us to winning many district championships!

After completing my Master's in Administration at SHSU, my work with children continued when, in 2008, I became the assistant principal of NSE.  In 2013, I was honored to be named the principal of NSE. After working for three years as the Director of Student Success, I was extremely excited to get back with students at LES in 2018.

My family has been my biggest cheerleader throughout my journey in education.  I couldn’t have made it through all of my adventures without them. My husband Tim and I have three daughters, two at Texas A&M and one attends Magnolia West High School.  On most evenings and weekends you can find me in the gym watching them play volleyball or basketball. We also love to be outdoors on the lake or just hanging out.

I am so proud to be a part of the Lyon family.  I automatically fell in love with the students, staff, and community!  Part of what makes LES such a wonderful place is the support we receive from our community.  We would love for you to stop by, join the PTO, or just visit for lunch!
