New this school year, the district is launching SMART Tag to improve the safety and security of students who use bus transportation in our district. The cards will also be used anytime students ride a bus, including field trips and extracurricular activities.

Note: bus routes will be available online Friday, August 7. The MyStop App will continue to be available until the district completely switches to SMART Tag.

Features include:

  • Correct Bus & Stop Verification: Students scan their RFID card upon entering and exiting to ensure they are on the right bus and get off at the correct stop.
  • Authorized Release: Ensures students are released only to authorized guardians.
  • Cafeteria Integration: Students will use the same card to purchase breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria, which will be linked to MySchoolBucks.

SMART Tag Parent App

We will also launch the SMART Tag Parent App, allowing you to see when and where your student boards or exits the bus, as well as receive real-time updates. The MyStop App will remain active until the district fully transitions to the SMART Tag Parent App.

Important Dates and Details

  • August 7: Bus routes will be available online. Please use the e-link portal under the "Bus Routes" tab on our website for route information.
  • August 12-14: Students will receive their individualized RFID cards at their home campus and can begin practicing tapping as they enter and exit the bus. We will use the first three days of school for students to get familiar with the onboarding and exiting process.
  • August 17: Official launch of SMART Tag for transportation and cafeteria payments.
  • September 1: Target launch date for the SMART Tag Parent App.

Daily Card Requirements & Lost Cards

  • Please partner with us to ensure your student carries their SMART Tag every day.
  • Forgot your card? Drivers and cafeteria staff can look up students manually so no child is denied a ride or a meal.
  • Lost your card? Replacement cards will cost $3 and can be replaced at your student’s campus.
